Well that is just silly talk. |

Luke20 (Staff) From: (Southampton) Joined: January 11th, 2004 Posts: 753 | Well I mean if there is so much confusion over what the captions mean for these pictures, I'll just have to replace them more often. Deary me. |

And you don't have to. That is simply not your job . . .

I was more thinking in the line of "No, see !?" or "Nosey" given the fact that the rifle is aimed at Chang's nose . . .

No, not ever! Those titles come from the people who submit them and should never, ever being changed apart from some minor spelling changes. The fact that you have a right to change it (and subsequently end last time's discussion, a.k.a pulling rank and hiding behind your priviledges) doesn't mean that you repeatedly have to exercise it. Goverments have a similair right to but even if they exercise it too much, they will be whistled back in court by court order. If I didn't know better, I would say that site-administrators here believe that they are above the law. In that case, I got news for you: you aren't! |

Because I'm clearly just this yes-man worker-drone. I don't expect a certain standard at all, nah (sarcasm aside, maybe I shouldn't! xD). Don’t tell me what my job is, though.
I've heard from other staff that you are awfully critical of Filefront and only comment when a there is a bone to pick with us - having been in the admin chair myself now, this would appear to be the case, sadly. It would be lovely if you could contribute to EF again, maybe with some of those stock texture maps, instead of sitting taking pot shots each time we do something that could possibly be construed as incorrect and doing absolutely nothing useful, or indeed interesting, for this community.
I'm not hiding behind staff privileges (now with all new correct spelling!) as you infer, no. I'm following the rules and acting within my rights. To compare Filefront or my administration here to a government and their policies is a little bit of a stretch of the imagination, even for I (although we have no expenses to abuse ), SO if you are sitting there and want to cause a stir, do so for all the right reasons. Submit, be constructive, make something awesome, be friendly.
It is just a gaming community. Which needs a new PotD, thanks for reminding me… |

Not going to happen. You can thank Hocking here & Tricorder on the FF forums for that . . . |

Chrissstrahl From: (Ulm) Joined: October 29th, 2006 Posts: 1008 | Hocking did what Luke does sometimes, but Hocking was far more of the grid than Luke hopefully ever will get.
Interpreting the rules and acting on them should not be done without mirroring your perspective, understand the opposite and find the moral, fair and suitable middle is what admins should do. But sometimes they go off this grid and begin to develop a habit to have a tendency that is convenient for one side only.
Unfortunately Hocking had the arrogance to ignore all friendly and good advices until he was forced by the circumstances to realize that his service was no longer doing any good.
How ever, I like to make one point clear, by all the mistakes he made he did some things very right, and if you ask me he wasn't even the worst admin this site had, he knew when it was time to leave the admin position. And if he would have been more open to the point of view from others instead of feeling under constant attack and trying to fight them he might would have been the best admin.
I'm not saying Luke should leave, and I'm also not trying to heat up things and I also don't like and interpretations of my text as they might please you, this text is not meant to please anyone.
But I would like to make a wish to my self for Christmas, something simple and useful: Everyone should think about the opposite feelings and how fair something might is or not ... ...and make a decision, after you realize that you may change one day and your future face might not like to look into the mirror of time to see your face of the past, because it is ashamed of things you where doing wrong because of your arrogance or your vanity where more important to you than moral, ethics and fairness. |

Hocking wasn't the only one exibited this treat. I've come to know it as the "Filefront arrogance" since it is apperantly it runs down to every staffmember of Filefron and previously Filesnetwork.
If something happens here, then the fault/blame/whatever never lies with them, always on you or they will, as Chris has said interpret/apply the rules to put the fault/blame/whatever on you . . .
Alright Apprentice, enough of this. Whatever problem you had with Hocking, this is not the place to start a discussion on it. Nor is this a place to attack Filefront. You've been hostile and rude these past few PotDs, and for that reason: Banned for a week. - Luke |
