How much support/patch should Ritual do?

As much patch it will be needed. 56.8% (108)
Let's patch some donuts! 17.3% (33)
EF has not enough patch... 3-4 will be good. 11.5% (22)
Like EF, 1-2 is enough. 7.8% (15)
No patch! Da game will be perfect when out! 4.2% (8)
No patch, modder will fix thing. 2.1% (4)

Total: 190
Start: 10-06 @ 14:52
Last: 10-29 @ 13:46

Even if it would be cool, I don't think they will do over 2-3 patch...

Exactly HOW would you patch donuts? I suppose if you ordered glazed and got plain, the donut shop might send you a "self glazing kit" or something. LOL That would be "patching donuts." Roll Eyes (sarcastic)
I'm glad we still have the donut choice. Rock

Seriously, if a game is rushed, you can bet it will need patches. But EF2 it taking FOREVER. It will probably be bugless when released.

Gonna need some BIG mods to make it worth playing, though.

many of the FPS have it,
and EF has suffered through ravens total lack
of vision, its been well reported that Eliteforce had many failings like the short game time,
numerous bugs and the rampant cheats in multiplayer, puckbuster was brough in for RTCW.
and many other games making mulitplayer much more fun.
Raven knowing they had the best trek game made to date lack of updates its nothing more than shameful,i once emailed them to comment on their lack of support and i got the generic reply "we are busy with Jedi now sorry"
i could rant on this for hours all i hope
Ritual will carry on with its tradition of looking after its fans, wink

computer games need patches because they always make it so they can update it that means they are leaving something out they cant do that or there is bugs and the game is never really done

True... all games have bugs.

All programs have bugs, excepy the extremely simple.

I.e. Look at your operating system. It doesn't matter whether it's Windows or Linux, or Mac OS, ALL of them have a few bugs in them.

Thing is, nobody can find all the bugs... the limited amount of Beta testers can't duplicate every single condition a user might face when playing the game/using the OS.

But Patches are good... makes the game more balanced, smile

Even if the game is perfect, id like a "patch"...
make the patch 30 MB, and if there are no bugs, that'll be 30 MB of maps, skins, features, etc that they forgot in the release...

Of course, i don't expect EF2 to be bug free.
