Game types: CTF, TDM, FFA - designed with CTF specialties in mind!


I'm a huge fan of Waterzone2 now, used to hate the damn thing. Reason I love it so much is the
mine jumping you can do in Specialties and so with that in mind I wanted to make a slightly
different version. This version has a higher ceiling (so mine jumping doesn't necessarily mean
hitting the sky) and an alternative route from base to base. Besides those 2 things, all other
changes are in the style of the map such as rougher terrain, lightmapped water, softer lighting
and so on.

I never intended Waterzone2 to be something new and amazing, just an update to Waterzone to make
it that bit more fitting for CTF.

And what's with Waterzone 2 and 3 existing? I had no idea until this!

Question, I haven't checked the map, but, if it is worth a 9.3 (Which I really won't doubt) Then why is it too much to write a review longer than 2 sentences?...

Ya know I don't think it is worth 9.3, it's the original Waterzone with a horrific underground p*****ageway (thank you Q3Map2 for screwing fog hacks up!), double-bridge, lightmapped water, rough terrain and new towers. It's not that amazing but it is highly suited for specialties CTF which is all I wanted to do; I love the original and thought it needed 'tweaking' to make it more acceptable for spec CTF.

As for the reviews, seems popular on a lot of FN sites to review with 2-3 lines, a lot of sites (HL2Files in particular) love to just quote the readme; no review whatsoever!

Scott suggested making the water reflective but the FPS hit was too much and then it wouldn't have the diffraction effects; I can't make EF water = HL2 water!

Anyhow if anyone wants to play it on a server I'll have one up for today at wadev.servebeer.com:2100 (84.92.38.65:21000)

Just like to point out that after 2 hours of messing with bots, I have to say the bots are superb in EF when set to specialties CTF, they gave us a run!
