Valiant Cadet Mod (0.2) - File Description  


Description:
This mod is best described in the readme:
Version 1: Basically, this mod corrects the cadet uniforms in the Starfleet Academy levels of single player. It kind of annoyed me that they were using the wrong (ie old) uniforms, when we'd seen Red Squad in the new uniforms (and one of the victims in Field of Fire had a photo of himself at the academy wearing the same type of uniform). All this does is give the cadets the new uniforms, and also gives them deparmental colours too.
Version 2: I've changed the sciences department colour to teal. People said to was too 'green' so now it's lighter and slightly bluer.
Cadets have been added to the crew of the Enterprise. Only 3, but I think it gives it a bit of a post-Dominion War feel (staff shortages and all that).
Finally Sydney is now a cadet, with a different hazard suit too.


The switch from the 'green' to 'teal' was definitely a good decision, and overall the mod is well made.
If the un-canonness of the uniforms bugged you at all, then download it.

Note: You need to download the New Rank & Pips Mod (2.0) file in addition to this mod.

Requirements: You'll need the latest version of the rank add-on pack by Lt_Commander

Instructions: Paste the Valiant_Cadet.pk3 into EF2 base folder
Example: C:\Program Files\Activision\EF2\base

looks very nice. but that sydney hazard suit looks a little odd, but other than that i like it 9/10 Resistance is Futile!

Yeah, the sydney hazard suit was more of a trial thing, I may make it optional if there's a 3rd release.
Lt Commander: It was your brilliant mod that inspired me to make the second version, keep it up, it rocks!

It's a bug that'll be worked out in the next version... I'm going to have to script her seperatly.
At the moment I'm working on a TMP uniform mod... I'll keep you posted. If anyone has any design suggestions for the TMP Hazard suit, that'd good big grin

I don't recall ever seeing any cadets wearing anything BUT a red suited uniform in the TV shows. I'll agree that having them in their departmental colours is a great idea and helps to identify them more easily, which is the whole point of having the colour coded system in the first place.
But Sydney is meant to have p*****ed the Academy, she shouldn't be in a cadet uniform, unless we're supposed to see her in the academy before she p*****es.

Just to go off topic, but with all the mods to correct non canon mistakes, has anyone tried to gather together the best ones to make a small update patch for the game? It would make more sense then having to go download every single mod going.

1: Fix the Doc, she shouldn't even be a cadet.

2:Listen to some of the discussion's and scan people with the tricoder so you can put the right color's on them.

3:Make that botanist jerk a cadet please.

I love this mod I can't wait for the next fix!
