Surefall4 - File Description  


Description:
After a long break from the Elite Force community wwazman returns with the next installment of his Surefall maps. Surefall4 is a rather interesting and refreshingly unique deathmatch map, the map consists of a large variety of areas including two structures and several out door hiding places.

One of the features I found most interesting was that I was able to swim up the waterfall, which gave me access to walk around the edge of the map. This in turn opens the door for those that enjoy using the zoom and compression rifle like a sniper.

The colour scheme is rather bright and adds a fantasy type atmosphere for this map, which helps add to the unique feeling. Overall this a very fun map of which the screenshots don't do justice, you'll have to check this one out for yourself to draw your own conclusions. Surefall4 is definitely worth checking out.

First I want to thank some people, that probably aren't playing EF anymore, but feel I need to thank them anyway:

Stukatto: Gave me endless tips in a time when I really needed to occupy my mind in creative ways. You sir, have been an inspiration
Padman: I always look around in awe at your maps and strive to do better myself.

ABOUT THIS MAP:
This map *SHOULDN'T interfere with the previous Surefall map, all relevant folders and files have been renamed so as not to interfere with the former maps gameplay. There are major graphical differences between the two maps, so you're free to play either one.
* new caves. LOTS of new caves.
* new breakable secrets. Plenty of these.
* LOTS of hidden areas!!!! Will you find them all?

INSTALLATION:
extract to the regular BASEEF directory.

Graphics:
All graphics were created by me, using screenshots from the Everquest game, but altering them so they would look better. ;)
Sound:
All sounds are from the Star Trek Voyager Elite Force game of course, except for additional sounds that are from various sources in the Everquest game (some of which they took from other places as well).

Known Bugs : ehh.. I forgot some of the screen messages, but those were more annoying.

I was lucky to meet WWazman right before he made this update. I have it on my server ({MAC}Gladiator). It plays very well and looks great.

I don't remember how many times I started, completed, tried to redo, and do over certain aspects of this map.. I actually made it 3 or 4 times (it should probably be renamed Surefall 9!) and lost it several times due to hard drive crashes, cd burner failures and wiping the drive (DOH!!!!!) .. converting it to JK 2.. ughh.. I finally had done most of it 2 years ago, made a backup, THOUGHT I finished it, and just uploaded on my own server,.. half finished.,.. couple of formats later.. one night I came back to the game, and discovered Keysaw and others hosting Surefall.. so I decided to finish the map and get it out. Kind of a weird feeling,... I still know it's not 100% right, I forgot a few health pickups, but overall, it's very fun to play (A map editor is his own worst critic, right?) but if not for seeing Keysaw hosting Surefall, Surefall 4 here would not exist.

now on to more maps!
