Description:
With a host of improvements on the previous version, EF2 mod developer oberlerchner123 brings Elite Force Files his new RPG mod. This development looks like the beginnings of an EF2 version of the popular RPG-X modification, but such a comparison is a little premature. An extension of multiplayer, so long as you have the correct maps installed (see readme), you can walk around and interact with other players without starting a frag match, spawn with a phaser and tricorder, have the ability to sit down properly in a chair, view your character in first or third person, stun/kill other players, and even kick people who are annoying!

In addition to game changes, the mod offers improvements to the already available USS Enterprise-E map, such as transporting n00bs to the brig when the transporter forcefield is activated, and actual images on the viewscreen of ships.

An all-together nice & potentially revolutionary mod here from oberlerchner123, and a recommended download for all those EF2 players.

Installation:

Run the Installer. (You can delete the old version from your base folder)

Uninstallation:

Delete the folder "RPG" in your EF2 folder.

Features:
- Allows you to sit down (press . key)
- New Animations (no Combat-Stance, sitting)
- Tricorder now has the right size (no more Micro-Tricorder bug)
- You get a Tricorder and Phaser when you join.
- stun/kill messages (no more holofragged)
- Switch to 3rd person (press , key)
- new default settings (weapons damage, max speed, ...)
- Weapons dont have splash damage anymore
- New Scoreboard (more space for names, no points, ID)
- RPG maps appear on top of the maplist
- Players dont get awards anymore (dont want to flatter them for n00bing :P )
- Private messaging: tell ID "Message" (example: tell 1 "Hello") (type it in the console)
- Kick people with "Kickshield": callvote kick ID (example: callvote kick 1) (type it in the console)
- Starship models no longer disappear at higher distance
- new Transporter sound (no more "bling" in the beginning...)
- Script changes on RPG Enterprise-E: Warp, Phasers/Torpedoes, spawn ships on viewscreen,
transport players to the brig, Transporter-Forcefield automaticly goes down if no player is on the server,
fixed the bugged brig forcefields, replace Quantum-Burst with STX-sniper-rifle (all the scripts i have on my server)

Bugs: If you crouch it looks like you are sitting,
but it doesnt do it in Holomatch anymore because it uses a seperate folder.

Notes: If you hear distorted sounds change your Sound settings to 44kHz.
If you want different weapons at start, look into Extra/Start-Up-Equipment folder in this ZIP file.

Where did the 3rd person phaser bug screenshot come from?
And that bug was always in EF2 that has nothing to do with the mod. frown

Try the 3rd Person Mode withount the mod BEFORE you start saying its the mods fault.....it has nothing to do with the mod...

The Screenshot does not belong to this mod, it's a standard Game issue.
It has to do with the client-side effect prediction handling, the aiming while in 3rd person and aiming trace systems, which has not been changed in this mod!

So this should not be in the description at all:
as well as the phaser beam shooting out of your back as well as the phaser when running,

I have to illuminate that:
It happens when you look from 3rd Person while firing any weapon, not just the phaser.

Anyway I don't understand why this screenshot is even there, It's anti-promotive, it makes the Mod look cheap and suggests not to download it.
I say: It's not cheap, and it is worth the download!

There are a few things which you did forget to add in your Readme:
1. Your Mod is a "Dual Boot Mod" and shall not be placed into the base folder, similar to the gbs mod it requires a own folder called rpg outside, right next to the base folder. Please have a manual installation instruction for those who don't have MS-Windows OS or don't want to use Installers.
2. Other Mods might not be (fully) compatible.
3. The following features are not new:
- Private messaging: tell ID "Message" (example: tell 1 "Hello"wink (type it in the console)
- Kick people with "Kickshield": callvote kick ID (example: callvote kick 1) (type it in the console)
They have been in game already, they just became public accessible with the HZM Coop Mod which included a modified Scoreboard to allow ppl seeing the ID of each other (missing credit indication for this!). Btw what is "Kickshield" ? Made-up name for kicking by Client-Slot-ID?

These are the only negative things which *****ed up into my eyes, everything else seams to be real excellent work, congratulation keep up the good work! Two Thumbs Up!

I dunno why the 3rd person bug pic is there, i never uploaded it.

A Player has a "Kickshield" when he places a space in his name, making it impossible to kick them via normal callvote. (damn now even more ppl know it lol)

And about the ID that was already in the Default Scoreboard file it just had 0 width, so you couldnt see it, i just found it there and enabled it.

Reading through your stuff made me learn a lot about the game, but not everything comes from you stick out tongue

Good work on the mod ober, keep it up

And also, the 3rd person bug has always been in ef2, the only time that has ever been fixed was in the ultimate patch mod, and that didn't even fix it fully.

Though i cant download it now ( my computer with EF2 on it brokedownCry ) i will download it ASAP!! (1st thing i do after i get EF2 to work!)
