Description:
Chrissstrahl presents the second patch for GSIO01's Enterprise-E RPG Map for Elite Force 2.

This patch adds a few new features and corrects a few of the small bugs, included in this list of additions are;


  • Added Interactive Turbolift Menu
  • Added Toggle Viewscreen
  • Added Mini-Mission


For those that enjoyed this fantastic map in the beginning, your going to have even more fun with it now. I was somewhat bemused by the addition of the Earth Defense scenario, as RPG maps generally aren't supposed to have any guiding effect on possible plots. However all in all this is a well put together patch and is a required download for anyone wanting to have RPG-X style turbolifts.

WHAT'S NEW/CHANGED?

PATCH::1.1::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
- Turbolift script has been upgraded. You need
to be inside of the Turbolift to travel with it.
Credits for additional suggestion goes to [dM]Modboy.
- Turbolift Hud has been added (phase 1 of 2).
- Misspellings have been corrected. Credit goes to
Jhamel, who informed us about.[Quarters,Library]
- Viewscreen On/off Trigger added at the OPS.
Credit for additional suggestions goes to Erk.
- Moved the Shuttle ($type11) to the Shuttlebay
lift2 (middle one).
- The HZM Lcars ST-X Health Hud is now included.

- Included PSD source files for the included huds.
- Included a scenario example. Voyager and Enterprise
are defending Earth, against a Borg Sphere.
Credit for additional suggestions and testing
goes to [dM]Warlord and [dM]Riddick.
This scenario can be started at astrometrics.
PATCH::1.0::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
- Turbolifts are now Working, you can access all
decks now without cheats. This is the first
version of the Turbolift System, a Menu will
maybe come soon, depending on the community activity.
- Corrected multiple small script bugs.
- Added Info at the Armory when ever you pickup
or drop a weapon.
- Replaced the static Laptop in the Ready Room
with a interactive Laptop.
- Added Physics Vars for Gravity and MoveSpeed.
- Added a Shuttle (notsolid) at Deck 7b, targetname
is '$type11'.
- Added a routine to unarm the players, take the ugly
Voyager Phaser away from them and equip them with
the Phaser-STX and Tricorder-STX.
- Ready Room Door is now Usable and no longer locked.
- Static Viewscreen SkyModel Covered with a 'script_model'
equivalent, targetnamed '$viewscreenSky'.
- Edited the MNI-file to allow voting this map at all
save game Modes in Multiplayer via Menu.

in your 'base' folder if there is one.

2. Ensure you have the file 'rpg_enterprise_e_alpha.pk3'
in your 'base' folder, else download it at:

3. Copy any *.pk3 files in this Zip-Archive in to
your Star Trek: Elite Force II 'base' folder.


DEINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. To de-install the Patch:
Please remove the file 'zzzz_rpg_enterprise_e_alpha.pk3'
in your 'base' folder if there is one.

2. To de-install the LCARS HealthHud Modification:
Please remove the file 'zz_advanced_health_hud_mod.pk3'
in your 'base' folder if there is one.

WHAT IS THE 'BASE' FOLDER
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The 'base' folder is the data folder of EF2,
here the game stores all it's game-data.
The game-data is stored in *.pk3 files.
Which are Quake3 Media Archives technically
they are just renamed Zip Files(deflat32).

The Elite Force II 'base' folder is located
within the Game directory, you need to go
to the location you have installed the game
'Star Trek: Elite Force II'.
EXAMPLE: c:\games\activision\EF2\base\

In this folder are more files with the extension
.pk3. If you can't find your base folder simply
search for the file 'pak0.pk3' using windows file
search. Of course with out the qoutes ( ' ) !

Are they like rpg-x (the turbos), I don't have ever played it.
The scenario(not a mission since you can't interact with it) shown here is just for demonstration, it can be made interactive.

They are not exactly like it, but I rather have a little menu off to the side rather than a menu dominating the whole screen. Anyway, excellent work on this map, GS001 and Chrissstrahl, I really like it.

By RPG-X Style Menu, I meant rather than having buttons all around the turbolift with great big writing on them. smile

That is something the mapper needs to do, i can not change the textures/shaders on a brush.

I've got one question, if this map is suppose to be the Enterprise-E, then why is Voyager's sauser section visible in the window of the first screen?

This is a screenshot of a predefined static scenario which I have included to demonstrate what the game is capable of. The Enterprise E is below the voyager orbiting Earth.

That has been realizes with the dynamic sky box system of Star Trek: Elite Force II, the whole scenario is spawned per scripts, it is not build in the map and can be dynamicly changed on the server scripts.

You can put there any else ship/planet/ (model).

I noticed that the saucer section is not the Enterprise, if you look at the "Captain's Yacht" you can clearly see its the bottom half of Voyager's (or an Intrepid Class) saucer section. If tha was fixed, it would probably be perfect.

I am trying to play with bots, because it says in the description when loading that 16 bots are supported, but they never load for me, so I never get to shoot anyone. Am I missing something?

It does not have support for bots and it does also not say anything about bots.
That what you have seen is the limitation of 16 Players.

how can i lock down the isolation door in engineering or how do i eject the warp core

Sry if this question seems stupid. :-s But how do go from place to place in the turbolifts???? I'm completely lost. The only 2 places I can go are the shuttlebay and bridge. So basicly what I'm asking is how to change my selection. Plz respond as soon as possible. Thx. smile

when you press your use button over the turbolift control, keep pressing it to scroll the decks. look in the bottom left corner to see the current selection.

The map is excellent, but should be developed from the first EF2 Rpg-x mode for now is not suitable for play.

this is a great map+patch but it would be really good if there was a half-assimilated borg version of this.
