Everything Else Is Green - File Description  


Description:
The very talented LtCmdrSalinga has sent us another excellent conversion map, this one is of Fjoggs Q3A map 'Everything Else Is Green' (Filename: fjo3tourney2), and we are happy to provide it here, for the Elite Force community, because...afterall, he is a Lt. Commander...he outranks us.

There is no shortage of fun here, and it doesn't matter if there are a bunch of you looking for a great map to play, or if it's just you and a buddy...even if you're all alone, maby it's quality night for you and your computer! This map can be played in three different gamemodes: FFA, 1v1 or as Single player, which means, it'll be a fragging good time no matter how many there are of you!

If you like green, no...I'm not talking about money, I mean the colour...then you are definately in the right place...and the map name fits to a 'T'! This map is anything but dim, so those of you that really hate dark spots/places, REJOICE! If anything, it's a little bright in a couple areas, but nothing that will bother you. 'Everything Else Is Green' a good looking map with some nice brushwork, a definate download no matter what your gamemode preference is!

Everything Else Is Green is an excellent tournament release from Fjoggs. The textures bring out a nice green industrial theme, and accompanied with some nice brushwork, make the map very attractive. Lighting is good and doesn't keep any parts of the map too dark, although things are a bit bright in places. [...] A must have for tournament fans, and may well be a keeper. It's a worthwhile download for those who like small deathmatches as well.

Hello? It's a CONVERSION! Converting maps is not so hard, it does not take a
truck-load of 'talent'...

More credit to the original mapper of the map please!!

The talented guy here is Vegard "Fjoggs" Fjogstad how has came up with the
concept, made the map brush by brush and textures it.

Also hail to Charon, maker of the textures.

I couldn't convert a map if my life depended on it, so from my perspective, he would be talented, If you don't think he has talent, that's your business, and your personal opinion.

Keep in mind that this comment section will not be turned into a debate over which adjective was used, and, the original developer is mentioned in both the readme and the description, he has received credit for his accomplishments.

LtCmdrSalinga is very committed and does take a lot of time to make sure he has the approvement of the mapper.
The conversion itself is not hard at all, but that's not the real point. The real accomplishment is that someone is taking the time and does things by the book to make sure the conversion is legitimate.

Thanks for the great review and the quick upload! B-)

My job for the conversion is to make shure the weapon/ammo/powerups are balanced well for Elite Force and the map uses EF sounds instead the original Q3A sounds - I even added sound to some of the maps if they had none in Q3A.

It also takes a lot of time to find the right maps. You have to go through hundreds of maps to find 10 or so that are convertable.

Converting is harder than you think. All of the entities will be wacked out, and on a big map, that is a pain in the rear.

I like these conversions, just since soo many, I haven't found all of them that have been hosted lol, think you planning a quake3conversion mappack or more soon?

@ #2 I dont think it matters if the conversion is hard or not. I just think its great that people are still developing stuff for this game & helping keep it alive.

If you doubt sali's talent I suggest you look at some of the other things he has done & made (ie the gladiator-arena mod)
